Jackson, Tommy L., 67, of Woonsocket, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Tommy was the son of Mrs. Aretha Jackson and the late Mr Bish Jackson, he was born September 10, 1950, in Troy, Alabama. He was predeceased by his siblings, Lewis Jackson, Bishop Lee Jackson, L.D. Jackson, and Mary Alice Jackson. Tommy is survived by 4 children: Jerrell Jackson of Troy, AL, Garrett Jackson of Hartford, CT, Vanessa Williams of Charlotte, NC, and Minessa Jackson of Troy, AL. He is also survived by his ten Brothers and sisters: Lonny Jackson, Floyd Jackson and Randy Jackson all of Woonsocket, Eddie Lee Jackson, Bobby Jackson. Berenice Jackson, Dorothy Jackson and Willie Pearl Hampton all of Troy, AL He also is survived by 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Special nieces Bonnie and Vonny Jackson all by whom he will be sorely missed.
Tommy grew up in Troy, AL where he was loved by many friends and family. He worked as a foreman for Whaley Sanders Trucking in Troy, AL for many years. In the early 80’s he decided to relocate to Woonsocket, RI. where he became an active church member. He had a love for God and people and was loved by many. He spent most of his time working hard, riding his bicycle and visiting friends.
